Registration Confirmation Process

Upon registration for the APAA Council Meeting please be advise the following process will occur:

For all online registrations, an automatic email will be generated and sent after the form has been completed to acknowledge your information has been received. In approximate 7 working days, a further email confirmation will be sent confirming registration and payment. If your registration is not paid, you will receive a not paid reminder.

For all hard copy registrations received, an email (if email address is provided) confirmation will be sent confirming registration and payment. If your registration is not paid, you will receive a not paid reminder.

 

Social Programme

The following events are included in the registration fee for all Attendees. The Hospitality Suite is not included in the registration fee, but is available for all Attendees to enjoy.

Saturday 17 November

Opening Ceremony

Time: 1830-1900 hours
Dress: Smart Casual or Lounge Suit
Location: Adelaide Convention Centre (Halls A, D & E)

An invitation is extended to all Delegates and Accompanying Family Persons to attend the Opening Ceremony to be held within the Adelaide Convention Centre. The gentle natural sounds of the Australian outback, land and wildlife will fill the auditorium, immersing the guests in the sights and sounds of the land. Guests will then enjoy a traditional Aboriginal Welcome, featuring traditional Aboriginal dance and the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo.

Welcome Reception

Time: 1900-2200 hours
Dress: Smart Casual or Lounge Suit
Location: Adelaide Convention Centre (Foyer F, Halls F & G)

The Welcome Reception is an opportunity to renew old friendships and make new acquaintances.

The event will take place in the Grand Foyer of the Adelaide Convention Centre which overlooks the picturesque River Torrens. Substantial food will be provided and background music will played, facilitating easy socialising and networking. Various points of interest and displays will be set-up throughout the venue which, along with ambient lighting, will complete the occasion.

Sunday 18 November

Discover Australia Night

Time: 1900-2300 hours
Location: South Australian Art Gallery & South Australian Museum, North Terrace, Adelaide.
Dress: Smart Casual

The heritage listed South Australian Art Gallery and South Australian Museum provide a unique and dramatic setting for the Discover Australia Night on the leafy, cultural precinct of North Terrace in the heart of Adelaide. These historic buildings are surrounded by gardens and lawns. The Museum and Gallery are two of the most visited cultural institutions in Australia and are an easy 4 minute walk from city accommodation and the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Visit all of Australia in one evening. The Discover Australia Night presents a myriad of activities giving ‘A Taste of Australia’ and the many attractions it has to offer, from the beach to the outback. Each region of Australia will be represented and will delight you with its unique character and cuisine. Entertainers will be wandering and interactive, so don’t be surprised if you end up cuddling a koala or caressing a snake – optional of course! This will be a truly memorable evening.

Restaurant Reservation Assistance

Location: APAA Registration Desk, Adelaide Convention Centre (Foyer F)

Many of Adelaide’s finest restaurants are within walking distance of the Adelaide Convention Centre – many more are only a short taxi ride away. While there are no official events on Monday evening, the Conference Managers have made special arrangements with a variety of local restaurants for APAA Attendees and will be happy to assist you with reservations and directions.

Please see the staff at the Registration/ Information Desk.

Bookings can be made from Saturday 17 November 2007.
Note: Cost of Dinner is not included in registration fees.

Tuesday 20 November

Final Banquet

Time: 1900-2300 hours
Location: Adelaide Convention Centre (Hall H)
Dress: Lounge Suit or National Dress

The Final Banquet will feature Australia’s finest food and wine, along with spectacular décor, lighting and entertainment. A meticulously planned menu will showcase the renowned cuisine that South Australia has become so famous. Spectacular award-winning wines will be on offer to complement each course. The feature entertainment performance remains a secret for now, but rest assured guests will leave impressed!

Evenings (excluding Monday 19 November)

Hospitality Suite

Time: 2200-0200 hours
Location: Adelaide Convention Centre (Riverbank Rooms)  

The Riverbank Rooms 1 and 2 will serve as the Hospitality Suite for the duration of the Council Meeting. The Suites will serve as a completely private area where guests can continue to network and mingle with friends. The facilities will remain open late into the night and into the early morning. A fully stocked bar will be provided. The room itself will be elegantly themed, and guests may enjoy quiet background music or head next door to Riverbank Room 3 for a spot of karaoke!
